We Are Goshen
The 2022 season is in the books for all our programs. Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this season a success. Thank you to our fans, our volunteers, our parents, our coaches, and our players. None of this would be possible without all of you. Thank you for your continued support of Goshen Football.
Honoring the 2002 Team
This season, we honored the 2002 Goshen Redskin team on their 20th anniversary. The 2002 team finished the regular season undefeated NLC champions before falling to Penn in the Sectional Championship. They posted an 11-1 record on the season in Brad Park's final year at the helm of the program. The 2002 team helped Coach Park notch his 81st win at Goshen, tying Ken Mirer as the all time winningest coaches in program history.
Golf Outing Highlights
Thanks to everyone who joined us for our annual golf outing. We had over 130 golfers participate this year. This year's winners were Thom Bernheisel, Travis Stewart, Brad Webb, and Mark Taylor posting a score of 59. Kent Yoder was our 2022 recipient of the Keith & Janet Swihart Memorial Service Award. This award recognized Kent's continued commitment to Goshen football. This fall will be his 30th season on the chain gang, plus Kent coached at the JFL and Middle School levels for 25 years. Coach Bill Doba and the 1970 Redskins were also recognized. It was great to see so many guys from the '70 team and to hear their fond memories of Goshen football. Thank you to everyone who helped make this years outing a success. We hope to see you next year!
Congrats Scholarship Winners!
This spring, the Gridiron Club was pleased for the first time to award two scholarships to two graduating senior football players in recognition of their exemplary performance on and off the field, and for the way they represent Goshen Football. This year's recipients are Camden Kercher (left) and Roman Schrock (right). On behalf of the Gridiron Club and all its members, congrats fellas!
Welcome New Head Coach Tom Wogomon!
On January 24th, Tom Wogomon was approved by the school board to become the next head football coach at Goshen High School. Coach Wogomon is a 1986 graduate of GHS with two prior head coaching stops before returning home to Goshen. As to his goals for the program, Coach Wogomon said "I am passionate to see Goshen Football be a relevant program in the Northern Lakes Conference as well as the IHSAA Tournament. Moving forward from day one, our tenets will be simple and straight forward. The fundamental goal and purpose for all coaches and players will focus on 'Being a Man of Character.'" Join us in welcoming Coach Wogomon and his family back to Goshen.
